What is this fellow standing on?

He is standing on a V-Structure. It is part of a stream restoration project on Brett Creek, a tributary to the North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River, Idaho. After spring run-off in 2005 it should look like this with a pool to protect native cutthroat. Two Washington clubs and one Idaho club took part in the work.

Getting kids and parents out fishing is the objective of the Fishing Kids days. It is OK if they use a spinning rod and bait. Some will develop a lifetime interest in fishing, maybe even move on to fly fishing.

This great show was co-produced by the FFF. It is Fly Fishing only and teaches much about tactics, techniques, fly patterns and equipment. Also shown are good catch and release methods. Many PBS stations across the U.S. carry it. Here are some Washington PBS stations. Call or e-mail to let them know that you want to see the show.
There is more about it in the March issue of Covering the Drift, p. 3. Click Here for PDF copy of the March issue.

KCTS, Seattle, doesn't carry it.
