SPRING HILL RESERVOIR SIGNS INSTALLED
By Don Bolstad On April 22, the ongoing winter weather relaxed enough for a group of Wenatchee Valley Fly Fishers volunteers and workers from the Wenatchee Heights Reclamation District to dig up five holes. Into each hole were installed two signs (English & Spanish). The signs were there to inform visitors of safety issues and trash removal. The WVFF volunteers included Bob Mitchell, Larry McCracken, Rene Paul, Steve deJong, and Don Bolstad. Greg Berdan is the Spring Hill Watermaster. Helping with the assembly of the signs were WVFF members Dick Ogle and Steve Olsen. After the five holes were filled with concrete, the volunteers collected beer bottles filling over ten large rubbish bags (bags from Chelan County) and removed the trash from the dam face. Our cleanup of Spring Hill will continue thru the 2008 fishing season. We appreciate your help in maintaining the area stay clean. If you need more garbage bags let us know. Bob Mitchell 884-5996 or Don Bolstad 663-0472. After opening day, Greg called to say the signs look great and the Water
District thanks the club for the help. |
