Baker Lake closes to sockeye fishing Sept. 12
Action: Close Baker Lake to the retention of sockeye.
Effective dates: Sept. 12, 2011.
Species affected: Sockeye salmon.
Location: Baker Lake, upstream of the log boom barrier in front of upper Baker Dam to the mouth of the Baker River.
Reasons for action: Baker Lake sockeye are no longer of sufficient quality to attract interest by anglers, and are moving toward spawning areas.
Other information: All other fishing regulations remain in effect as listed in the 2011/2012 Fishing in Washington sport fishing rules pamphlet. Anglers are reminded to release all bull trout.
