Kendall Slough (North Fork Nooksack River)
closes to fishing Sept. 12
Action: Close Kendall Slough to all fishing.
Effective dates: Sept. 12 through Sept. 30, 2011.
Species affected: All species of fish.
Location: Kendall Slough, on the North Fork Nooksack River, from the mouth of Kendall Creek (Kendall Creek Hatchery outlet) to the markers at the mouth of Kendall Slough.
Reasons for action: To avoid impacts to spawning chinook, which are listed for protection under the Endangered Species Act.
Other information: On Oct. 1, 2011, regulations will revert back to permanent rules in effect as listed in the 2011/2012 Fishing in Washington, sport fishing rules pamphlet.
